Golovchenko: Belarus, Uzbekistan almost tripled trade turnover over five years
The visit of Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan in our country is of great importance – as noted by Belarus’ PM Roman Golovchenko during his meeting with Tanzila Narbayeva
“We’re glad that very warm and partnership relations have been established across all levels: at the level of heads of state, at the government level, and at the inter-parliamentary level. This year we’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. Now is a good time to look back and plan for the future. I won’t be mistaken if I say that our bilateral relations are going through a period of heyday, a renaissance – as is testified by a very fruitful political dialogue and mutual support, which is very important in a situation where all states are forced to defend their independence, including in the international arena, and consolidate with their friends and partners,” said Roman Golovchenko.
The Belarusian Head of Government recalled that the main measure of the success of relations is mutual trade and, in general, trade-economic liaisons, “We see very good results. Over five years, the trade turnover has almost tripled. This is a very serious indicator. This year is no exception: we’ve increased by almost 50 percent to last year’s level.”
The PM thanked Tanzila Narbayeva and Uzbekistan’s leadership for a balanced and constructive partnership approach.
