Gigin: West is always hysterical when Belarus and Russia conduct military exercises

The threat to our country from the West is now quite real – as emphasised by Vadim Gigin, the Chairman of the Board of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society

The expert made a reference to the recent statement by the President of Belarus that the Belarusian Su aircraft were converted to be equipped with nuclear weapons, and explained what caused such actions, “Poland is doubling the size of its armed forces. In the coming years, they intend to spend more than $6.5bn on the acquisition of American tanks. This country is fighting for the creation of the largest NATO military base in Eastern Europe in its territory. The Baltic States are actually occupied by other NATO countries. It is impossible to drive ten kilometres in Estonia without running into a NATO post. The so-called NATO Baltic mission operates there, that is, they do not have their own air force, using aircraft from other countries,” the specialist noted.

Vadim Gigin drew attention to the fact that a few years before the start of the special operation, NATO reconnaissance aircraft began to approach the territory of our country.

“Earlier they flew at a distance of 100-150km while now they are approaching up to several hundred metres. A year before the special operation, 10 military exercises were held in Ukraine with NATO troops and Ukrainians. Let’s compare: we have Zapad exercises with Russia every two years but the West raises a colossal hysteria because of this. Therefore, this threat is quite real,” the speaker said.
