Families of babies born in early 2023 received gifts from Belarus’ President
According to tradition, presents have been handed over on behalf of Belarus’ President to the families in which the first Belarusians of 2023 were born. Four ‘New Year’ babies (a boy and three girls) were born in Minsk and Bobruisk on January 1st at 00:01 – becoming the best gift for their parents and a secret miracle, the significance of which could hardly be overestimated. In the first hours of 2023, twenty-six children were born in Belarus: 11 boys and 15 girls. The Year of Peace and Creation – or rather its first seconds – has become the starting point for them to a future happy life.
One of the happy mothers, Yulia Matyushevskaya, gave birth to her baby at the Mother and Child Republican Scientific-Practical Centre. She was overwhelmed with emotions, “I was admitted to the Mother and Child Centre on December 29th, according to medical indications. Doctors examined me and preliminary notified that there would be a caesarean section on January 4th. Meanwhile, on December 31st, I just had time to eat a salad and a tangerine, and my daughter ‘asked’ for birth. She began to cry at 00.01 – virtually, under the accompaniment of the striking clock.”
The press secretary of Belarus’ President, Natalya Eismont, presented gifts to the happy mother and her baby; the girl is now second child in the Matyushevsky family. “It is on such families that our country rests. Therefore, without hesitation, give birth to a third baby as well, since the state will always support you in this. As our President tells every Belarusian family: ‘The third child is my child’,” Ms. Eismont noted.
“While giving birth, in order to somehow distract myself from the process, I asked [medical staff] to turn on the live broadcast of our President's speech. Here is the result: in the first second of this new year, my baby was born. This is a true miracle! By the way, our eldest son was also born on the festive day of Epiphany: January 19th,” Yulia noted.
The girl was named Valeria, and her eight-year-old brother Gleb is waiting for his sister at home. Dad Vadim is also looking forward to meeting his daughter and the best wife in the world. Yulia Matyushevskaya admitted: her husband was happy to know that their daughter was born on the first seconds of the new year.
“My husband was celebrating the holiday in a restaurant, with our relatives and friends. I suddenly called him and informed on the news. He failed to believe me initially, but I then began to accept congratulations from all those present at the restaurant,” the lady added.
Yulia thanked the Mother and Child doctors, as she feels here like in a big family, “The medical staff here are wonderful – without exaggeration. I am grateful to them for my daughter was born healthy: her weight was 3,300kg, and height – 52cm. Lera already has a great appetite. I want only one thing for my children: health.”
Under the accompaniment of adults’ talks and the flashbulbs of reporters, the baby fell asleep sweetly…
