Expert comments on advantages Belarus can get when joining SCO
Participation in the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation will have a positive impact on our image and expand our potential – as stated by Andrei Rusakovich, Professor of the Department of Eurasian Studies of the Faculty of International Relations at the Belarusian State University during his talk with STV TV channel
He believes that the participation of our country in such a prestigious organisation will strengthen its position in the world market.
“The second very important point is that the SCO is a multi-profile organisation for co-operation, encompassing an economic component and a developed security sector. On the whole, it positions itself as a promising and weighty centre of a new system of international relations. If we become a member, it will enhance our image and expand our potential. Participation in the SCO expands the possibilities of bilateral co-operation with China, India, Pakistan, not to mention Russia. We will get new perspectives,” the specialist explained.
