Expert commented on possible interference in upcoming Presidential election
The next Presidential election in Belarus has been scheduled for January 26th, 2025, but it is obvious already that the collective West is going to use any chance it gets to meddle in the electoral campaign and prevent Belarusians from making their free choice
Aleksei Avdonin, an analyst at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research (BISR) explained why Belarus remains the focal point for Western politicians.
“We are a sovereign country with independent policies. We don’t ask anyone for their opinions, or invite any Western advisors. It’s not for them to lecture us on how to run elections. That annoys them, of course, but what can they do? They can use their global media platforms to say things are bad, there’s voter fraud, the election is not proceeding as it should, again. But that’s nothing new. The key thing is, if that’s their reaction, we are doing everything right and in the best interests of the Belarusian people," he said.
