It is informed that, in accordance with the agreements reached between the defence ministries, units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus have begun to perform combat training tasks as part of the second stage of exercises with non-strategic nuclear forces.
"During this event, among other things, issues of joint training of Belarusian combat units and Russian nuclear support units have been worked out. Mobile formations of the 12th Main Directorate of the Russian Defence Ministry ensured the delivery of training nuclear munitions to field storage points of the missile brigade's positional area and the operational airfield of assault aviation. Together with our Belarusian colleagues, we have carried out the preparation and delivery of missiles in special equipment and the suspension of aircraft weapons for carrier aircraft," Lieutenant General Igor Kolesnikov, the Head of the 12th Main Directorate of the Russian Defence Ministry, said.
He said that issues of ensuring combat duty with training nuclear munitions are currently being honed. "Following the exercises, the results of each training issue will be summed up, and directions for further improvement of the training of non-strategic nuclear forces will be determined in order to ensure the fulfilment of tasks in various scenarios of the military-political situation development,” Mr. Kolesnikov added.
