BSUIR Rector: commercialising results of research is one of key tasks of scientific community
One of the key tasks of the scientific community is to commercialise the results of their research – as noted by Rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) Vadim Bogush, a member of the working group to analyse the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) activities, after today’s meeting of the members of this working group with the President
“We have a fairly high level of fundamental science. One of the key tasks is to commercialise the results, i.e., to actually move from laboratory samples to mass production. The solution lies in several planes. One of them is to improve the efficiency of interaction with sectoral management bodies and institutes of the Academy of Sciences. Sectoral ministries should play a more active role in the formation of scientific programmes, acting as customers for programmes and individual events,” Vadim Bogush emphasised.
According to the BSUIR Rector, the meeting also touched upon issues related to the development of human resources potential and the involvement of young people in scientific research.
“Young people should have access to good equipment, have mentors and, in this regard, ensure the creation of a new intellectual product,” he underlined.
