Belarusian transit in Pulkovo airport grew in 2024

In the 10 months of 2024, passenger transit to Belarus from Pulkovo airport (St. Petersburg, Russia) grew 16 percent, the airport press service announced

“Pulkovo airport serviced 17.9 million passengers in January-November. 14.9 million used domestic flights, with Moscow, Sochi, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Samara, Murmansk, Ufa, and Mineralnye Vody being the most popular destinations. 3.6 million passengers flew internationally, mostly to Antalya, Istanbul, Minsk, Dubai, Tashkent, Samarkand, Dushanbe, Baku, Yerevan, and Sharm El Sheikh. Our Chinese destinations grew the most: 207 percent. Growth was also observed when it comes to flights to Uzbekistan (25 percent), the UAE (20 percent), Turkiye (17 percent), and Belarus (16 percent),” reported the press service.

The airport representatives also pointed out that they have launched a number of new initiatives to improve passenger service quality. The operational centre for passenger and transport flow management came online this summer. Its main objective is to ensure seamless transition. Since the system became operational, the pre-flight service time went down from 90 to 30 minutes, and from 30 to 9-13 minutes for business class passengers.

Located 23 kilometers from Palace Square in St. Petersburg, Pulkovo is one of the largest and fastest developing airports in Russia.
