Belarusian model of response to coronavirus yields fruit
The Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission on Health, Physical Culture, Family and Youth Policy at the House of Representatives, Valentina Kursevich, believes the Belarusian model of response to coronavirus has yielded favourable results
Heads of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly held a meeting with the WHO Regional Director for Europe, Hans Kluge. According to Ms. Kursevich, it was of great significance for the Belarusian parliamentarians since the Republic takes an active part in the World Health Organisation activities. “Methods of treatment, diagnosis and prevention of coronavirus infection are being discussed and we all understand that the pandemic is taking a lead among the topics. It’s very important to develop the measures that will help reduce the spread of this dangerous disease. At the same time, the response model developed by the Belarusian Government has yielded fruit and we observe certain results of it,” she said.
Mr. Kursevich noted that she supports a mandatory mask regime and believes that every Belarusian should be responsible not only for the state of their own health, but also the health of all who are around. “The mask regime, social distancing and use of antiseptics remain important,” the deputy added.
