Belarus’ Ambassador attends exhibition opening in Romania
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Romania, Andrei Grinkevich, has taken part in opening the Not Subject to Oblivion photo-documentary exhibition – as informed by the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Bucharest
The exhibition tells its visitors of the Nazis’ crimes against civilians during Second World War.
As reported by the Belarusian Embassy, the photo exposition – hosted by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Bucharest – is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Nuremberg trials. A separate stand is devoted to the Nazi invaders’ crimes on the Belarusian land.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. Grinkevich spoke about the sufferings and sacrifices of Belarusian people during WWII, also emphasising the importance of preserving the memory of the Victory of the Soviet people and allies. The diplomat believes it’s necessary to unite efforts to preserve and strengthen peace in the world.
The event was also attended by the ambassadors of Russia and Turkmenistan, representatives of Romanian academic and public circles, the Jewish community of Bucharest, and Romanian media.
The Ambassador of Belarus discussed some issues of the regional and international agenda with participants of the event.
