Ambassador: Belarus-Russia trade turnover up by additional $1bn in four months of 2024

Against the background of record indicators of bilateral trade in 2022 and 2023, the trend continues this year – as stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia, Dmitry Krutoi, at a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers held on June 10th in Smolensk

As informed by the diplomat, the trade turnover increased by an additional $1bn in four months of 2024 (if using the Dollar equivalent), or by almost 7 percent.

“Importantly, we have a steady balance for the third year in a row against the background of record absolute values of exports and imports. Therefore, it is extremely important not to slow down our turnover and take all possible measures to maintain the emerging positive trends. I sincerely believe that such figures are a consequence of the implementation of the roadmaps and large programmes that we carried out in 2021-2023," Mr. Krutoi stressed.

According to the diplomat, the parties have prepared 31 joint plans to meet the new main guidelines to implement the Union Treaty in 2024-2026.
