Aliyev: Baku, Minsk confirmed strategic nature of relations
Baku and Minsk have confirmed the strategic nature of relations – as stated by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during his today’s negotiations with President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko in an expanded format
Ilham Aliyev said that the leaders had a detailed conversation in a narrow format on many issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as on regional and international topics. “We have once again confirmed the strategic nature of our relations,” he stressed. “We value the trusting, creative partnership between our countries, which is based on mutual respect, friendship and co-operation. Our relations have been time tested, and I think no one doubts that Belarus and Azerbaijan are two reliable friends.”
The Azerbaijani leader stressed that only in an environment of mutual trust can the two countries move forward confidently, always relying on mutual support. He added that the delegation members had the opportunity to communicate on May 15th, and the contacts were effective.
“Looking at the prospects for our co-operation, we see a huge potential – in increasing trade turnover, in continuing to expand industrial co-operation, in agricultural liaisons,” Ilham Aliyev said, noting that Azerbaijan would be glad if Belarusian companies and enterprises participated in the post-war reconstruction of territories.
The President of Azerbaijan added that co-operation between the two countries is multifaceted, it has a good history and prospects.
