Bolivia hopes to become full member of BRICS

Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa Lunda said that Bolivia hopes to become a full member of BRICS and has already received support of member countries for its entry into the organisation, TASS reports

Celinda Sosa noted that BRICS represents ‘an initiative and an alternative where members can contribute to fairer and more equal development around the world’, adding that Bolivia hopes to be part of this ‘friendly space to counter US hegemony’.

According to Ms. Sosa, the Bolivian authorities have already held meetings with representatives of the BRICS countries, including Brazil and South Africa, who expressed support for the South American country regarding its entry into the association.
