In Q1 2024, foreign investors injected $2.8bn into Belarus’ economy

Foreign investors injected $2.8bn into the Belarusian economy in Q1 2024, sb.by reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee

Business entities from Russia (accounting for 57.5 percent of all incoming investments), Cyprus (13.5 percent), and the United Arab Emirates (9.8 percent) were the main investors. Foreign direct investments totalled $2.3bn (82.6 percent of all incoming foreign investment).

In January-March 2024, Belarus’ organisations directed $1.2bn of investments abroad. Significant volumes were sent to business entities in Russia (91 percent of all directed investments). The share of direct investments accounted for 81.3 percent of the total amount.
