It is reported that after the announcement of withdrawal from the 2018 inter-Korean military agreement, North Korea began to rebuild destroyed guard posts. It is claimed that by now the DPRK has actually completed the necessary work.

It is also noted that the South Korean military are also working to restore its own 11 posts that were blown up or abandoned. However, it will take time to build full-fledged concrete fortifications. Therefore, special forces units may be involved in patrol operations in the DMZ to enhance the security of military personnel on guard duty in the conditions of temporary infrastructure construction.
