It is reported that the Belarusian diplomat took part in solemn events dedicated to the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, laying wreaths at the memorial to Soviet hero pilots, and also visited the Nanjing Anti-Japanese Aviation Martyrs' Memorial Hall. The ceremony was attended by diplomats of the consulates general of Belarus and Russia, representatives of the People's Government of Nanjing and the Nanjing Anti-Japanese Aviation Martyrs' Memorial Hall.

On meeting the Chinese leaders, Andrei Andreev thanked the Chinese side for its efforts to perpetuate the feat of Soviet fighters, stressing that preserving the historical memory of the peoples' joint struggle against fascism, Nazism and militarism is a political necessity and a common duty to future generations.

The Nanjing Anti-Japanese Aviation Martyrs' Memorial Hall is one of China’s largest graves of foreign volunteer pilots who helped the Chinese people in the fight against the Japanese invaders. Among them are 236 Soviet servicemen who died in battles in China from 1937 to 1945.

The parties agreed to work together to restore information about the dead soldiers and promote co-operation between the two states’ museums. A possible visit of the Chinese delegation to Belarus was discussed as well.
