The historical scale and significance of the Victory are timeless. At the cost of millions of lives and crippled destinies, our people – demonstrating indomitable will, unity and power – triumphantly defeated fascism and managed to defend peace and prosperity in their native land.

Time has chosen us to become a unifying link between modern generations and participants in those terrible events. Sadly, the latter are falling in number every year. Our present duty is to preserve the memory of the feat of the war heroes for our descendants, to convey the historical truth to our youth.

On this festive day, I sincerely wish you, your families and friends good health, happiness and well-being. May the sky over our native Belarus always be bright and peaceful!
