Lukashenko convened meeting on control and supervisory activities

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has convened a meeting today on control and supervisory activities. Before the discussion, the Head of State noted that approaches for further optimisation of control and supervisory activities would be in focus.

"This is not the first time we are turning to this topic, given its importance," Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed those present. “In 2009, an integrated control system was formed in the country on the basis of Decree No. 510, and – eight years later, in 2017 – it was comprehensively modernised based on the needs of the state and society and at the request of those who were insistently complaining that the functioning system was ‘too strict’ towards them, making it impossible to work. The list of regulatory authorities was revised, duplicate areas of control were reduced, and requirements for the scheduling of inspections and the work of supervisors were tightened.”

According to the President, the State Control Committee annually informs on the reduction of the controlling burden on business entities. “Based on its reports, the total number of inspections decreased by almost 30 percent last year to make 6.5 thousand (in 2019, there were 8,822 of them).”

Meanwhile, as noted by Aleksandr Lukashenko, there are still negative trends in this area.
