Lukashenko shared impressions about parade on Red Square in Moscow

The parade on Red Square in Moscow was organised in a nuanced way and thoughtfully – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko after taking part in the celebrations on the occasion of Victory Day, BelTA reports

The Head of State noted that was not the first time he had answered the question about the parade on Red Square. He was first asked this question by his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, and later by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.

"I will tell you sincerely and openly: no one else knows how to organise such events the way they do – in the spirit and in content," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. "It was a parade, not quite like the parades that had taken place before. However, the time is different now. Have you noticed how subtly they caught the moment and did what needed to be done today?"

The President said that he had read some of the comments, i.e. that heavy equipment had not been presented at the parade. The Head of State called such statements opuses, “Should the tanks have been removed from the line of contact, from the front and dragged to the Red Square? Should they have been further sent to Belarus to be demonstrated to all? Nobody needs it. Since 1941, tanks and fighters from Red Square have always gone to the front," Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

"Therefore, everything was smart, delicate, thoughtful, and up to the point – in the way it should be today. They have shown their power. Those able to think over could notice that, in the end of the parade, they [Russians] demonstrated Yars strategic combat weapons [systems with intercontinental ballistic missiles]. Those who are able to think over and read understood that it’s better to live in peace, and those with dirty brains should know that it’s better not to deal with us. Everything was as it should be today," the President concluded.

The Head of State also informed what he had talked about with Vladimir Putin after the parade. "My fate in this regard is not very good: celebrations and receptions always continue, while I am going away. I got ready, my motorcade was waiting for me, I came up to him, and he asked: ‘Where are you going?’ – ‘Listen, we also have [celebrations] in Belarus’. – ‘Oh, I have forgotten. I ask you very much: convey to all Belarusians from Russians, from me, the warmest congratulations on our common holiday’.”
