The Head of State noted, “Schools will soon host solemn assemblies, and tens of thousands of graduates will take their first steps into independent life under the accompaniment of the anthem. The sowing campaign has ended, and it will be followed by a harvesting campaign. Thousands of Belarusian harvesters will go into our fields, and agricultural workers will perform their labour feat under their native flag. Hundreds of couples are preparing to get legally married. The stamp will seal the vows of love and loyalty of the new families. Our coat of arms and flag can be seen in the windows of residential buildings and cars increasingly often now, and on July 3rd, the main holiday for our country — Independence Day – on which we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation, millions of Belarusians will gather at the squares of cities and villages to sing the anthem together.”

The President stressed that people are proud that they are real Belarusians, “This is the national unity, the one which is cemented by the lasting memory of the heroic feat of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers in the Great Patriotic War, patriotism, creative work, and the desire for peace. This unity is symbolised by the National Flag, the National Emblem and the National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus, and we must preserve this unity to protect our country – because the time has chosen us!”
