Belarus continues to actively contribute to strengthening international co-operation in combating human trafficking, which requires co-ordinated actions at both the national and international levels.

The topic of the resolution proposed by Belarus is relevant, since rapid technological transformations are increasingly affecting all spheres of public life. The document clearly demonstrates that the fight against human trafficking in the digital age is not a one-time measure, but a continuous process of updating, adjusting and introducing innovations. The resolution notes the importance of intensifying interaction in the context of a ‘technological arms race’ to combat those who use digital tools for criminal purposes.

The resolution aims to unite the efforts of states, civil society and international organisations to effectively combat human trafficking in the digital age. The document outlines the opportunities that digital technologies provide to criminals in carrying out their illegal activities, but also specifies how such technologies can be used in the fight against human trafficking. The document defines a number of practically oriented recommendations for states and other stakeholders in the fight against human trafficking.
