Lukashenko congratulated President of Ethiopia on 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between two states

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated President of Ethiopia Sahle-Work Zewde on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

As noted by Aleksandr Lukashenko, the strong friendship between the peoples of Belarus and Ethiopia can be viewed as the main achievement in bilateral relations over this period. “For all three decades, Minsk and Addis Ababa have adhered to the traditions of goodwill and trust. Both countries are consistent supporters of strengthening the principles of multilateralism in world affairs, a collective search for answers to global challenges and threats based on international law, respect for the identity of peoples and their ability to determine their own future. This has made it possible to lay a solid foundation for the progressive development of Belarusian-Ethiopian co-operation,” the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State stressed that Ethiopia is now a very significant and reliable partner for Belarus in the African region, “I believe that the time has come to raise bilateral interaction to a qualitatively new level, to fill it with significant practical content in order to achieve tangible results in the economic and humanitarian spheres.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Sahle-Work Zewde excellent health and success, also wishing peace and prosperity to the people of Ethiopia.
