Lukashenko sent condolences over death of Iran’s President: Ebrahim Raisi was Belarus’ true friend

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent condolences to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in connection with the tragic death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and a range of high-ranking officials, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Head of State noted that Belarus had received the news with great pain and sorrow.

“Outstanding sons of the Iranian people, world-famous political and public figures have passed away. Their active work and decisive steps ensured the proper position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the world, contributing to the strengthening and growth of the high status of the country in the international arena,” the message of condolences reads.

“President Ebrahim Raisi will remain in history as a wise leader who devoted his entire life to selfless and dedicated service to the Iranian people,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. “I will always keep the warmest memories of meetings and conversations with Mr. President, who was a true friend of Belarus and cared a lot about the development of Belarusian-Iranian co-operation. His name is forever inscribed in the annals of relations between our countries.”

On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, the President of Belarus also expressed sincere condolences and words of support to the families and friends of the deceased, to the entire Iranian nation.
