The Head of State laid a wreath at the Victory Monument in Minsk. It is an annual tradition for the President to personally take part in the laying ceremony.

Wreaths and flowers were also laid at the monument from the heads of government bodies, the National Assembly, the judiciary, law enforcement agencies, public associations, the diplomatic corps, veterans and the clergy.

Aleksandr Lukashenko and everyone present on Victory Square honoured the memory of the fallen heroes with a minute of silence.

The ceremony continued with Belarus’ national anthem and the solemn march of the combined company and orchestra of the guards of honour of the Minsk Military Commandant’s Office, followed by a theatrical musical performance – We Remember! We’re Proud! We Won’t Betray!
