The new tradition of solemnly honouring the most important symbols of sovereign Belarus has become truly nationwide – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko at a solemn ceremony honouring the state symbols
The Head of State stressed that he is pleased the new tradition of solemnly honouring the most important symbols of sovereign Belarus on National Flag, Emblem and Anthem Day has firmly entered our lives.
“This tradition has grown into our hearts on the fertile soil of love for the Motherland, becoming truly nationwide. Just as here, on the State Flag Square in Minsk, thousands of young people today take the oath of allegiance to the state symbols in large and small cities of our country. This is a sign of deep respect for the past – the spiritual and moral values bequeathed to us by our ancestors. This is our sincere gratitude for the peaceful and happy present, ensured by the older generation of our contemporaries,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
However, the President added that is a demonstration of readiness to take responsibility for the fate of one’s own country is the most important. Addressing the younger generation, Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined, “After all, you are not just entering adulthood. Relying on all the achievements, as on the strong shoulders of your predecessors, you take over the baton in preserving and strengthening the Belarusian statehood and commit to cherish the symbols of an independent country.”
