Opinion: Putin, Lukashenko are two leaders who are actually geopoliticians

Except for the leaders of Russia and Belarus, there are practically no people around the globe now who have the right and are able to think independently and make decisions. Aleksandr Myasnikov, a writer, historian, and Editor-in-Chief of the Russia – My History project, believes Putin and Lukashenko are the ones who deservedly occupy their positions.

During the Minsk-Moscow Union State live streaming, the expert explained, “Regarding Europe, look at why the presidents here and there differ. Let's take Macron [President of France] as an example. This man worked at the Rothschild bank, he is a puppet who is being twisted and turned. He does not do what he wants, he does what he is forced to do. The similar situation is everywhere, and that’s the problem. Therefore, I think we are lucky that we have got up from our knees, that we have become states.”

Focusing on the importance of the concept of ‘statehood’, Mr. Myasnikov added, “I really dislike such words as ‘patriotic upbringing’, because – on hearing ‘upbringing’ – everyone, especially a teenager, goes into shell. Moreover, the word ‘patriotic’ has been overused. However, there is an alternative to all this, and it is a thousand years old. Gaius Julius Caesar once said that the state rests on only two things: the laws and the army. The concept of ‘statehood’ is fundamental for the country’s existence – so people need to be upbrought in the spirit of statehood, and this is the key. Moreover, the statehood born on the territory of Russia and Belarus needs to be maintained and developed.”
