Statistical Committee: exports of Belarusian goods to CIS growing, imports also increasing

Exports of Belarusian goods are growing to all CIS countries, and imports are also increasing – as announced by the Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee, Timofey Zhigarev, sb.by reports

Mr. Zhigarev clarified that exports of Belarusian goods amounted to $27.2bn in 2023, 4.1 percent more than in 2022. “Imports also increased to $24bn (an increase of 1.2 percent). At the same time, we also actively co-operate with countries outside the CIS, where there is also an increase in exports of goods by 3.2 percent compared to 2022," he noted.

Belarus sold $20m of products abroad in H1 2024, which was 104.2 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

“Foreign trade is characterised only by positive dynamics. Apart from the CIS, Belarus also successfully carries out external economic relations with about 200 countries of the world," Mr. Zhigarev added.
