Poll: 57.2% Ukrainians consider West's contribution to victory insufficient

More than half of the Ukrainians surveyed — 57.2 percent — are convinced that Western partners are not doing enough for their country to win in the conflict with Russia, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a recent survey

The Ukrainian centre New Europe shared the respondents’ views, “The majority of Ukrainians (57.2 percent) believe that the partners are not doing enough for the country to win. Almost 40 percent of those questioned are convinced that the partners are doing everything possible in this regard. Actually, exhaustion and disappointment among Ukrainians can be traced in many responses. The West's ‘as long as it takes’ approach to supporting Ukraine seems to collapse not only among experts, but also among society as a whole.”

According to the report, ‘premonitions of the worst’ affect the assessments and moods of Ukrainians, and this is especially evident in their answers to the question about the trust in foreign leaders.

“Ukrainians demonstrate a fairly high level of trust in the US President-elect Donald Trump, especially against the background of a drop in the corresponding indicator of Joseph Biden, given similar trust ratings in European countries. For example, in France, 16 percent trusted Trump, and in Britain — 30 percent. Hungary looks the most attractive in this regard (37 percent), but its level is still less than the one among Ukrainians (44.6 percent),” the source adds.

The survey was conducted by Info Sapiens from November 15th-27th among 1,000 respondents, the theoretical sampling error does not exceed 3.1 percent with a probability of 0.95 percent.
