NATO to produce 650 F-35 fighter jets in coming five years
NATO countries plan to replenish their military arsenals with 650 F-35 fighter jets in the next five years, as well as to build at least 50 warships and submarines – as announced by the US President’s National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, TASS reports
In a column for The New York Times, Mr. Sullivan wrote, “In the next five years, our NATO allies will add over 650 fifth-generation F-35 aircraft, over 1,000 air defence systems, nearly 50 warships and submarines, 1,200 battle tanks, 11,300 combat vehicles and nearly 2,000 artillery systems to modernise their arsenals."
According to the US official, NATO closest partners in the Indo-Pacific region are also increasing their military spending.
