MP on Oreshnik deployment on Belarusian territory
Deputy of the House of Representatives of Belarus’ National Assembly Anatoly Bulavko commented on the decision on the possible deployment of the Oreshnik complex in Belarus in 2025, sb.by reports
“Sensible politicians will react quite normally, because they understand the situation that is developing, and absolutely understand that the Republic of Belarus will not sit back and do nothing,” the speaker stressed. “It will take measures to protect its state, including from potential threats. The decision regarding the Oreshnik that was adopted [during the Union State Supreme State Council meeting on December 6th in Minsk] is a confrimation of this. After all, the Head of State has repeatedly said that we have preserved the entire infrastructure.”
Continuing the topic, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko added, “We are pre-empting the issues related especially to the German and western sides regarding the deployment of their contingent in Lithuania and Poland’s efforts to militarise the region. We should also take into account the fact that foresight and strategic thinking allowed the Belarusian leadership, in particular the President, not to destroy the infrastructure, which is now very useful for the Oreshnik deployment.”
