Moldovan PM Dorin Recean told that the document was positively assessed in the government. The decision to cancel the celebration will come into force only after it’s approved by the deputies of parliament.

Earlier a bill was submitted to the parliament, which meant renaming the Victory Day in Moldova. However, due to mass protests, the deputies decided to postpone the meeting at which this document was to be considered. During the rallies, citizens of the country brought posters to the parliament building with the slogans ‘Stop fascism’, ‘Do not steal the Victory Day from us’. The protesters also demanded the resignation of President Maia Sandu and the government that was formed by the ruling party.
