MAZ joined nation-wide Wish Tree initiative

Minsk Automobile Works (MAZ) joined the national Wish Tree initiative started by the Belarusian Red Cross: each worker now has a chance to do some magic and make a child’s wish come true, MAZ media centre informed

“The company has a New Year tree set up on its grounds. It’s decorated with deer-shaped postcards. Each postcard is a wish you can make true until December 24th and leave your present in a box nearby. On December 24th, right before the Catholic Christmas, kids with special needs from Minsk boarding school No. 10 are going to come to visit us. We’ll show them our company, introduce them to our history and set up a wonderful meeting with New Year characters who are going to give them their presents,” said the company representatives.

The Wish Tree charity drive by the Belarusian Red Cross takes place on December 2th-January 15th. Thanks to caring people, children from poor or broken families, those leaving in substitute families, as well as disabled kids are going to get presents they want. New Year trees with wish postcards are set up in shopping and business centres, movie theatres and companies. Everyone who encounters a tree like that can pick a wish and make it come true, leaving the present by the tree or giving it to a responsible employee, or a Red Cross representative. The presents will later be delivered to vulnerable kids.
