Lukashenko to heads of local authorities: we will not just break through, but do everything we have to

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has made a number of personnel decisions today, and among the new appointees are heads of local executive authorities. There have also been changes among the leadership of ten districts and two cities.

Addressing the new leaders, the Head of State thanked them for their willingness to work in new positions, ‘because the time is not easy’. “To be honest, there are many people among us who would like to sit quietly somewhere at this time – to act further in line with circumstances. You are the basis of the vertical of power, you are directly at the ‘front’, you communicate with people directly, so your work is the most difficult. The work of the vertical of power and the opinion about the President will largely depend on your activity. That is why I am grateful to you for having accepted these positions in a manly, resolute, courageous way, without fear of anything. This is the most important point. You should not be afraid of anyone in your country. You should have no doubt that we will not just break through, but do everything we have to. People believe and trust us, and we must not deceive their expectations,” Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed those present at the meeting.
