Before the start of the event, the Head of State was reported on the state and prospects of development of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics. Aleksandr Lukashenko got acquainted with the exhibition of sci-tech and innovative achievements of Minsk’s technical universities: the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR), the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), the Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU), the Belarusian State Agrarian and Technical University (BSATU), the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation, the Belarusian State Academy of Communications.

The Head of State was demonstrated the latest scientific developments of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics. The achievements of the university scientific community were presented by BSUIR Rector Vitaly Bogush.

The innovations include the Etalon measuring equipment for verification and calibration of microwave devices, equipment for ensuring national security, and an apparatus for electromagnetic compatibility of radioelectronic systems.

An all-weather long-range automotive radar – designed to prevent vehicle collisions – is of particular interest. It is planned to use it as part of braking systems for large-sized vehicles that are produced by the domestic machine building. The unit – built into the vehicle – independently detects an obstacle at a distance of up to 250m and automatically turns on the brakes. The development, as they say, is for the future — it can be used for both driver-driven trucks and unmanned MAZ vehicles.

Belarus’ Education Minister Andrei Ivanets also reported to the President on the results of scientific activities and other technical developments.
