Lukashenko convenes meeting on issues of the potash industry
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, will hold today a meeting on issues of the potash industry, BelTA reports
“The agenda includes exports, logistics, and accounts receivable,” the Pul Pervogo Telegram channel clarified.
The President keeps the state of affairs in this area under constant control, and this is exactly the case when it is absolutely and extremely clear why. In early 2023, Aleksandr Lukashenko held a meeting on exports of Belarusian goods. The question of port capacities for cargo transshipment was also raised at that time, and the conversation primarily tackled potash fertilisers.
This issue was also discussed at the Head of State’s level just over two months ago. During the meeting, the necessary decisions were made and appropriate instructions were given.
In September, during his working trip to Soligorsk, the President discussed the state of affairs in the potash industry with Belaruskali’s Director General. As the head of the enterprise noted, production capacities are 80 percent loaded – much higher than at the beginning of the year.
“Your instruction to produce and export at least 8 million tonnes will be fulfilled. This is already visible based on the results of nine months of this year,” said Belaruskali’s Head.
