KGB Chief: we see serious increase in efforts of anti-Chinese coalition
In his talk with journalists on December 13th, the Chief of Belarus’ State Security Committee, Ivan Tertel, made a statement
“We are starting to hold an important event under the patronage of the Head of State: a meeting of the CIS heads of foreign intelligence services. It is organised in pursuance of the decisions of the heads of state. Belarus and our President have always advocated integration and interaction in the post-Soviet space on all issues: the economy, politics, and social sphere. The special services’ work is, of course, an important component of the integration processes in the post-Soviet space," Mr. Tertel said.
The KGB Chief noted that the current situation in the world is not easy: armed conflicts are taking place in the Israeli-Palestinian zone, in Ukraine. “There are other international points where serious conflict situations are brewing. We see that the anti-Chinese coalition is currently being seriously formed, and efforts are being increased in this regard. The United States, the United Kingdom and some other countries are at the head of this coalition. This work is being carried out quietly, without media coverage. However, we see that a very tight ring is forming around China," he stressed.
According to Mr. Tertel, such platforms like a meeting of the CIS heads of security agencies and intelligence services are often used to discuss acute problems that foreign ministries cannot focus on. “Quiet and calm work at these venues makes it possible to find and implement appropriate solutions in order to ensure the security of our states,” he stated.
