Kazakh Ambassador: Kazakhstan welcomes Belarus’ entry into SCO

The SCO summit will be held in Astana on July 4th, 2024, and the two sides’ common desire is for Belarus to become a full member of the organisation during this summit, with a good footing for this, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yerlan Baizhanov told reporters, commenting on the results of his meeting with President Aleksandr Lukashenko

The diplomat outlined the position of his country, “Kazakhstan welcomes the entry of the Republic of Belarus into the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation and has completed all internal state procedures regarding this entry.”

On July 4th, Astana will be hosting the SCO summit, and, according to Yerlan Baizhanov, the ‘common desire’ of the two sides is for Belarus to become a full member of this organisation, “There is a good footing for this.”
