Expert: West miscalculated in relation to Ukraine
The collective West has miscalculated many issues regarding Ukraine – as stated by the News Front Head, Konstantin Knyrik, in his talk with the Soloviev Live TV channel
According to the expert, one of the miscalculations is related to Ukraine’s mobilisation potential. “In many issues, the West has miscalculated in relation to Ukraine. This also applies to the reaction of people who, as those in the West thought, would not run away, and also in the assessment of Ukraine’s mobilisation potential. They did not expect that people would run away and hide. At the same time, we see that there is a certain strengthening in this case. People are not only caught everywhere in Ukraine: there is information that ordinary citizens with military service exemption certificates are not allowed to go abroad, immediately coming under scrutiny. In most cases, it is revealed that the right not to serve was obtained through corruption. Accordingly, a person is sent to the army,” Mr. Knyrik noted.
According to the expert, everything will eventually come to the point that no one will be allowed to leave Ukraine. “Moreover, they will also strive to create special conditions in Europe, so that as many people as possible return. That is why we observe negative trends there, the blockade of trucks in Poland, for example. Why are you driving and carrying some kind of cargo? Go to war. If you can drive a truck, then you can fight. That's their logic. The greatest miscalculation [of the West] is related to the mood in European society. The West expected that – by censorship, prohibitions and straightforward propaganda – they would achieve hatred of Russia and bias. However, it has turned out that this method does not work,” Mr. Knyrik stressed.
