Deputy Foreign Minister: by late 2024, Belarus should increase its supplies to Russia by 7.6%
In 2023, Belarusian exports to Russia grew by more than 9 percent to reach an impressive $25bn for our country. In his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel, Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Nazaruk gave his forecast for exports to Russia in 2024 and assessed bilateral co-operation.
“It is not so much me or the Foreign Ministry who have forecasts, but rather Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko, who approved clear parameters for the country’s socio-economic development for 2024 by signing a corresponding decree. An increase in exports of goods and services at 107.6 percent (against the previous level) is indicated as one of the parameters. This is a target for us, and we will strive for it. By late 2024, we must increase the supply of our products and services to the Russian market by 7.6 percent,” explained Igor Nazaruk.
Speaking about foreign trade, he called Russia a key partner for Belarus.
“Trade with Russia exceeds 60 percent, and there has been a noticeable increase in the supply of Belarusian goods to Russia,” added the official.
