A press release from the Danish Defence Ministry notes that the funds are intended to solve mine clearance and engineering support tasks, including maintaining the manoeuvrability of equipment at the front and transporting tanks.

Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen noted that Ukraine needs ammunition and assistance in maintaining equipment that wears out during a protracted war. “So I’m glad that, together with other IFU countries, we can help the Ukrainians with equipment to support weapons systems on the battlefield,” he said.

Over the past year and a half, Denmark has transferred about $2.74bn to Ukraine. Of this amount, $327m was allocated for humanitarian purposes, the rest – for military assistance.
