Denmark said it would allow Kiev to use F-16 only on Ukrainian territory
Ukraine will be able to use the F-16 fighters, which Denmark will transfer to it, only on its territory – as stated by Danish Defence Minister Jacob Ellemann-Jensen, TASS reports
"We donate weapons under the condition that they are used to drive the enemy out of the territory of Ukraine. And no further than that. Those are the conditions, whether it's tanks, fighter planes or something else. This is a signal that Ukraine, of course, will receive," the Defence Minister said.
According to the Chairman of the Conservative Party, Seren Pape Poulsen, fighter jets should not operate outside Ukraine. "It is important that they be used for self-defence in Ukraine. The idea is not to use planes to attack Russia," he stressed.
In turn, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen hopes that Ukraine will receive more aircraft from other countries. "We are the first country to make a specific donation of F-16 planes, and I hope that other states will follow," she said.
