BKM Holding proposed its passenger equipment for development of Philippine transport infrastructure
Minsk-based BKM Holding (ex-Belkommunmash) has offered its passenger equipment to the Philippines for the development of its transport infrastructure
"A delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines visited BKM Holding. The Deputy General Director, chief engineer Aleksandr Gutyrchik, organised a tour to the production workshops for the guests,” the company’s press service informed. “The parties then discussed prospects for co-operation in the development of the transport infrastructure of the capital of the Philippines — Manila, as well as the cities of Cebu and Davao. As Igor Garlit Bailen, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Republic of Belarus with residence in Moscow, noted, the historical development of the city of Manila creates difficulties for the effective organisation of transport links, so now the government is in search of relevant solutions and is studying successful international experience.
It was recalled that the Philippines is one of the key states of the far arc for Belarus. The country is also a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the development of co-operation with which is primarily important in the economic sphere.
The Philippines is a country in Southeast Asia, located in the western Pacific Ocean between Indonesia and Taiwan. It includes more than 7,000 islands and has the population of about 115m people.
BKM Holding was founded in 1973 as the Minsk Tram and Trolleybus Repair Plant. It is now known as a manufacturer of urban electric transport — electric buses, trolleybuses, trams, as well as charging infrastructure.
