Belarus introducing e-visas for citizens of 67 countries
Belarus is introducing electronic visas for citizens of 67 countries – as stipulated by Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 953 (adopted on December 16th, 2024), which was officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BelTA reports
The document introduces amendments to the visa regulations of Belarus. In particular, they are supplemented with the Electronic Visa chapter. Such visas will be issued in the Consul automated system. The technological procedure and conditions for the provision of this electronic service, receipt and provision of necessary information in electronic form are determined by the Foreign Ministry and the National Centre for Electronic Services.
E-visas are issued to holders of ordinary passports of 67 countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Austria, Belgium, the UK, Spain, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and other countries. In order to obtain such a visa, foreigners will need to submit a visa application through the OAIS unified electronic services portal. The application will be considered within seven calendar days. E-visas are not issued on an urgent basis.
E-visas are single-entry and individual visas and are issued for a maximum of 30 days. Depending on the purpose of travel, the following visa categories are available: business travel, participation in sports, cultural, scientific, educational activities and internships, private affairs, tourism.
Upon entry to Belarus and during the stay in the country, a foreigner is obliged to present a copy of the electronic visa in electronic form or on paper at the request of the competent authorities.
The innovation comes into force three months after the official publication of the decree.
