Belarus’ Deputy PM: formation of Greater Eurasian Partnership will help to move away from unipolar world model
Integration organisations should not only strengthen and grow but also build a constructive dialogue among themselves – as stated by Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko in his speech at the plenary meeting of the CIS International Economic Forum
“Today, not everyone is ready to accept the unipolar world model, which naturally causes resistance of the collective West. Building a multipolar system is predictably possible through the development of integration processes, including on the basis of the concept of forming the Greater Eurasian Partnership, which includes strengthening mutual ties between the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO), as well as BRICS and ASEAN,” Igor Petrishenko noted.
In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister called on all interested parties to pay close attention to Aleksandr Lukashenko's initiative to organise a summit of the EAEU, SCO, and BRICS member states.
Russia is presiding in BRICS this year, and the next expanded summit of this organisation will be held in October 2024 in Kazan.
“This event can be used to invite the heads of other integration associations. Such a multilateral meeting will contribute to the formation of a common platform for discussing topical issues, systematising a unified integration agenda of various formats, and combining, as they say now, the potentials of organisations,” Igor Petrishenko added.
