Lukashenko reported by Kosinets and Mitskevich, setting tasks to build Belarusian People’s Congress work

The President of Belarus, Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko, has been reported today via vconference call by Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress Aleksandr Kosinets and Head of the Secretariat Valery Mitskevich, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

After the first session of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress held on April 24th-25th, the Head of State set a number of tasks, outlining major issues that need to be worked on within the framework of the new constitutional body.

Firstly, Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to build a system of working with the Belarusian People’s Congress delegates along the ‘Chairman – Deputy – Secretariat – delegates’ vertical. The Congress consists of about 1,200 delegates, representing people from a wide variety of social groups, including deputies of local councils and representatives of civil society. “The system of working with them must be built not from meeting to meeting, but on an ongoing basis, including informing delegates, feedback, meeting schedules, etc.,” the President outlined.

Task number two is to build a structure for organising the Belarusian People’s Congress work. It should be minimal, but certainly effective. Since the Secretariat – the main body involved in the organisational work of the Belarusian People’s Congress – will be small, the task has been set to organise a system of interaction with government agencies, governors, local authorities, and civil society actors.
