According to Gosatomnadzor, the head of the Belarusian delegation made a national statement, underlining that our country accepted all the key IAEA expert missions recommended by the agency to a newcomer country in the field of nuclear energy. Ms. Lugovskaya noted that the conclusions made by IAEA experts based on the results of the IPPAS mission (on the physical security of nuclear facilities) in Belarus indicate that the country attaches great importance to the safety and reliability of the nuclear power plant. Belarus has established a nuclear security regime with significant elements of IAEA guidelines.

In her report, the Gosatomnadzor Head also added that the mission noted Belarus’ best practices in terms of 11 positive practices, which can serve as an example for other IAEA members in strengthening the nuclear security regime.
